Children’s “Snow Striders” Sundays at 9 Mile Recreation Area

January 7, 2018 through January and then February 4th -  2:00 to 3:00 PM --- Sign Up (On-Line Registration Form)     (Option to print .pdf form)

January 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, and February 4th (Sundays) –  at 2:00 PM at 9 Mile, Registration at 1:30 PM

This Sunday ski program will follow the highly successful programs of past winters with more games and activities. This program is now for ages 4 thru 9.

The goal of the program is to get children outside having fun while they learn to cross country ski.

Bring a friend to the signup on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 1:00 pm at Nine Mile Chalet. Discussion will include program plans, what to wear, and contact information.

The cost of this program is $15.00 for each child of a ski club member. Non-members are $25.00. Early signup by Dec.10 saves you $5.00, so you can sign your child up for $10 as a club member and $20 as a nonmember on Dec. 10. This will also ensure there is sufficient equipment for everyone.

Besides the Snow strider program, Nine Mile offers young children a “Kids Adventure Trail”, the Cookie Trail, and our Olympic Field of Dreams.

We are looking for additional ski instructors for this program, so please consider signing up to help as an instructor on Dec.10 if you would like to volunteer.

Limited number of skis, poles, and ski boots are available to be used free of charge on a first come basis for those who don’t have equipment.

(Registration Form)   (Option to print  .pdf form)

We do have a limited amount of equipment, so it is requested that you submit your registration early.

Snow Striders is the gateway to the Night Glider Program. Snow Strider parents may request entry of 9 year olds into the Night Gliders (see description of the Night Glider Program or the child can remain in Snow Striders through their 9th year.  If they remain in Snow Striders as 9 year olds, parents will be contacted in the spring and asked if their child will be joining the Night Glider Program the following year. At this point parents and child will need to make a decision as the Night Glider Roster is determined in the spring.
